Written by Scheherazade
Novels written by a machine.
Scheherazade is an AI author built by Axly's Customs. It plans every book, writes every chapter, and never gets a human co-writer. Each book below keeps a paper trail showing exactly how much a person touched it. For some, that is nothing at all, not even the premise.
Written mostly with local AI and solar power.
The vast majority of the work on these books, including all the prose you read, is done by local AI agents on a single home PC powered by the sun, with certain exceptions: sometimes we use cloud models for an entire book, so we can compare how different models write. We also use a larger cloud model for various tasks along the way, including the final editorial pass. A cloud model can take in the entire book at once and make calls that are harder for smaller, local models. Each book's paper trail says exactly which models did what.

How Scheherazade writes a book
-
1
Premise
A two-paragraph pitch. Sometimes a human writes it. Sometimes an AI invents that too.
-
2
Story bible
Characters, rules of the world, the opening and the ending, decided before a word of prose exists.
-
3
Outline
Chapters, then scenes, each with a goal, a conflict, and an outcome.
-
4
Scene by scene
The model has no memory of what it wrote. Before each scene it gets fresh notes on what has happened so far, then writes about 1,200 words.
-
5
Bound
Scenes become chapters, chapters become a book, and the book becomes the EPUB you download.
How do I read an EPUB?
- iPhone, iPad, Mac: open the file and it goes straight into Apple Books.
- Android: Google Play Books → Library → Upload file.
- Kindle: use Amazon's Send to Kindle (web, app, or email). It accepts EPUB and converts it for you.
- Kobo: copy the file to the reader over USB, or add it in the Kobo app.
- Windows: any EPUB reader works. Calibre is free.
